ZOMBIES & RPGS: A NERD’S WET DREAM

Zombies & RPGs: A Nerd’s Wet Dream

  • Posted by E Carmichael

“In an aesthetic reminiscent of the original Legend of Zelda, Carmichael explores the existential crises of two 8-bit warriors on an unexplained quest. Beyond that, I can’t possibly give a better explanation of the film than the terribly talented young filmmaker does on her web site.

The fact that I even remembered Ledo & Ix–let alone was still excited about it–after two hours of The Monaghan, speaks volumes about how awesome it is. I came home and immediately went to Carmichael’s web site, then proceeded to e-mail the link to all my friends, then proceeded to e-mail her to gush like a twelve-year-old. Like I told her, I can’t wait to see what she does next.”

Ledo and Ix at Marfa film festival

I got to meet Robin Lambaria, the director and founder of the Marfa film festival, at SXSW this year. While her ease at outdrinking me filled me with terror and dread, I am honored to be part of her festival. I also super love the blurb on the schedule listing for Ledo and Ix.

Ledo and Ix at Atlanta

The Atlanta Film Festival is ALSO screening both Ledo and Ix episodes at the head and tail of its animation block.

Comments on: Ledo and Ix has its first Fan Artwork, and it is AMAAAAAZING!!

So when I was 17, I went to art camp at Bennington college with Dan Romer, Lily Ladewig, Ray Tintori, Luke Fox, Eva Navon and more folks I can’t list because there’s apparently there’s a tag limit.  It was, no lie, the happiest I had ever been up until that point. Somehow I keep running into people from that summer later in life. One of them is the inimitable Jonathan Mann, who’s currently on a Song a Day regimen, and created this AMAZING SONG for Ledo and Ix. Enjoy it and marvel at his genius! Thank you Jonathan!

Check out more of Jonathan’s music at SONGATRON.

Brooklyn Films at Northside

Ledo and Ix Go To Town visited the Northside Film Festival for a night of Brooklyn Films presented by Rooftop Films. It took place at indiescreen in Williamsburg, which is a new place to go if you live incredibly, incredibly close to the East River.
